The Ski Train - Tours & Attractions - Boulder, Colorado

City: Boulder, CO
Category: Tours & Attractions

Description: During winter, the Ski Train provides another, more interesting way to get to Winter Park. It requires going into Denver, making the trip a bit longer than driving directly, but you won’t have to deal with traffic or icy mountain roads. The Ski Train departs from Denver’s Union Station at 7:15 a.m. and takes skiers within walking distance of the lifts. It goes through some 30 tunnels, including the 6.2-mile-long Moffat Tunnel, drilled a mile below the Continental Divide—a nifty ride and worth experiencing, especially with children. The Ski Train leaves Winter Park at 4:15 p.m., just after the lifts close. The trip takes two hours each way. The Coach Car fare is $59 for adults and $49 for kids for a round-trip during the winter months. The same trip is $85 in the Club Car, including continental breakfast and après-ski refreshments. Discounted lift tickets are available on the train. The Ski Train runs Saturdays and Sundays from mid-December until late March plus additional days during Christmas–New Year’s week and on Thursdays and Fridays in mid-February.
