Description: CSCS, as it’s known in the region, opened in 1971 and has continued to grow since: It seems every time you drive by the campus off of Austin Bluffs Parkway, there seems to be a new building or structure. Recognized as a 2010 National Blue Ribbon School award winner, CSCS strives to provide excellent education from a Christ-centered biblical perspective. Classes average about 21 students. The total population of 900 students from pre-K through grade 12 has daily Bible courses, weekly chapel services, and opportunities for volunteer service as well as strong academics, arts, and sports. Many of the sports teams, especially the varsity volleyball team, often vie for state championships. There is also an online program for high school students. A K–8 Woodland Park campus opened in 2005.

Description: Evangelical Christian Academy (ECA) was established in 1971 and now provides a Christian-based education to about 400 students from more than 50 churches in the region. Description: This agency is a parent’s dream—a place to find answers without wading through the yellow pages or Google. Description: Counterpoint is a longtime preschool tucked into a downtown neighborhood. It is not big (just a few classrooms), but it has generations of loyal families. The classrooms are organized into learning centers with freedom of movement and easy access to materials. Kids learn through music, art, dance, natural sciences, language arts, and movement. There is a large outside space. They have two preschool classes, two pre-K classes and a sprouts class for 2½- to 3-year-olds. There is early care, after care, and summer programs. Description: First opened in 1978, this nonprofit child care, preschool, and school is set in the wooded Cheyenne Cañon area. With three buildings (one was the first Cheyenne School District building from around 1900), Greenshade accommodates up to 91 children ages 1 to 12. Children use one of the three buildings as determined by age. They offer school pick up for the elementary kids in the Cheyenne Mountain District 12 schools, and feature five playgrounds, each designed for a specific age group. Greenshade offers day camps in the summer. They receive state funding and offer two fee structures so that parents who make under $30,000 per year are better able to afford the services.
