Description: You can grab a slip close to the Keys’ fabled backcountry at the bayside Plantation Yacht Harbor, a municipal marina located at Islamorada Founder’s Park (see the Recreation chapter). This 88-slip marina can accommodate vessels up to 60 feet in length, drawing 5 feet. Mobile marine mechanics are on call to service needy vessels, and a fuel dock supplies both diesel fuel and gasoline. Plantation Yacht Harbor does not have a ship’s store, but a 1-mile walk up the Overseas Highway will put you at a convenience store. You may use the on-­site laundry, showers, and restroom facilities. Tennis courts, a swimming pool, a small beach, skate park, playground, dog park, and sports field await your pleasure. Plantation Yacht Harbor Marina is accessed via the Intracoastal Waterway, between markers no. 78 and no. 78A, or via Snake Creek from the Atlantic.
