Description: With an excellent array of courses, unlimited sailing for members, and free seminars, The Sailboat Club and Sailing School offers one of the better ways to learn to hoist a mainsail in the Jacksonville area. An accredited training facility of the American Sailing Association (ASA), The Sailboat Club offers instruction in basic keelboat sailing, coastal cruising, bareboat chartering, coastal navigation, instructor’s qualification, and captain’s licensing. Members sail from seven year-round locations—five on the St. Johns River South of Jacksonville, one in Jacksonville Beach, and one in Saint Augustine. In association with Schooner Freedom of St. Augustine, members of The Sailboat Club are invited to sail aboard the tall ship Freedom, which sails from historic St Augustine.
