Description: Considered by some local golf pros to be Jacksonville’s top public course, Windsor Parke received a four-star rating from Golf Digest magazine and ranks among the top 100 golf courses in Florida according to Golf News. Open since 1990, and considered very beginner friendly, the Arthur Hills–designed course is nestled in the tall Southern pines off Butler Boulevard on the way to Ponte Vedra Beach. The par-72, 6,043-yard course has mostly flat terrain but a fair amount of water hazards as you approach the greens.The signature 16th hole is a par-3—only 150 yards from the white tees—but the carry to the green is almost entirely over water. The course is open year-round, except Christmas Day. After a round of golf, you can enjoy drinks and appetizers at the 19th hole lounge or dinner at a full-service restaurant.The club’s PGA professional staff offers lessons. The course also has a driving range and putting, chipping, and sand practice areas. Collared shirts and soft spikes are required. Greens fees, including cart rental, are $39 Monday through Friday for Florida residents ($45 for non-residents) and $49 on weekends and holidays for Florida residents ($55 for non-residents). Located off Butler Boulevard, the course is easily accessible from Baymeadows, Southpoint, Downtown, and the Beaches.
