Description: Located in Centro Ybor, Tampa Bay Brewing Company not only brews its own beers and ales, it then cooks with them. Starting with Hummus Dip made with their True Blonde Ale, moving on to Iron Rat Stout Shepherd’s Pie, and finishing up with Home Made Jack the Quaffer Bread Pudding, made with porter-soaked cherries. They even use the ale in their pizza dough. Southern food, it is, with items like Fried Chicken and Waffles, Pulled Pork BBQ, and Gertie’s Fruit Cobbler for dessert. Rock Star Friday means live-band karaoke night with singers backed by the Jimmy James Explosion—yes, you may end up on YouTube!—and Saturday nights feature Jimmy James and the Velvet Explosion house band playing everything from James Brown to ABBA. Description: Just the fact that the Blue Martini is located at International Plaza’s Bay Street tells you this is not just another bar. Mondays salute hospitality industry workers, Azul Tuesdays feature Latin dance lessons and music, and each of the other days has its own theme, live music, and special offers, too. Three-dozen or so specialty martinis are on the drink list along with wines and champagnes. A dinner menu includes flatbreads, steak, salads, a lobster taco, and desserts, but the focus is definitely on the title drink served in elegant surroundings.
