Description: Twain’s is a favorite among Atlanta billiards players. The full-service brewpub, restaurant, and poolhall has been open since 1996. With 13 pool tables, it’s also a part of a Monday night pool league. Live music and good food accompany any visit. Twain’s is open at 11:30 a.m. daily except Monday when they open at 5 p.m. They close at 2 a.m. except Friday and Saturday when they are open until 3 a.m.

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. games cost $3.50 per person. After 6 p.m. you’ll pay $3.75 per game per person. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after 6 p.m., games are $3.50. Rent shoes for $3.50. Description: Off GA 136, 25 miles northwest of Lafayette, Cloudland is about a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Atlanta on the western edge of Lookout Mountain. The park has 72 tent and trailer sites, 30 campsites, and 16 cottages. Although there’s no lake, the park offers a swimming pool and tennis facilities. Wander the hiking trails and marvel at the scenery of this lovely park in the north Georgia mountains. The first night’s deposit holds your reservation. Campsites cost $19 a night for tent sites, $23-$25 for RVs. Cabins have two or three bedrooms and cost $120 or $140 per night. Linens, towels, and kitchen utensils are included in the cost. There’s a $2 per car parking fee.

Description: Lake Lanier Islands has more than 300 lakeside campsites available year-round. The campgrounds feature a fishing pier, an outdoor pavilion, laundry facilities, a store for supplies, a dump station, and a boat launch ramp. All RV sites have water and electricity; some have sewer hookups. Primitive sites are $32.99 to $37.99 per night; sites with water, electricity, and sewer hookups for tents, campers, or RVs are $37.99. Primitive lakefront RV sites are $35.99 per day.

Description: One-and-a-half miles east of I-75 at exit 123, Red Top, on a 1,950-acre peninsula along Lake Allatoona, offers 92 tent and trailer sites for $23 to $225 per night. A 33-room lodge costs $675 per room, double occupancy, during the week, and $130 on weekends. There are also 18 fully equipped cottages for $105 a night during the week, $135 on weekends. There is a seven-night minimum stay from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Cottages sleep up to eight people, and while they have no TV or phone, they do have fireplaces, decks, and grills. Adding to the pleasures are 50 picnic sites, fishing, tennis facilities, nature trails, three marinas, boat ramps, and five docks.

Description: Just 16 miles east of Atlanta, this park’s campground features more than 440 wooded lakeside camping sites as well as a supply store. You can make limited reservations subject to availability. The campground features complete RV hookups as well as rustic tent sites that rent from $33 to $40 per night. You must be 18 years or older to rent a campsite. Besides camping fees, you’ll pay $10 per car to enter the park.

Description: This park is 4 miles west of Royston off US 29. It offers 27 RV sites, 6 tent sites, and a pioneer site for $23 or $35 per night. In addition to being a well-maintained park, Victorian Bryant also has a lake for fishing and one fish pond reserved for campers only. You can swim in the pool, and kids can enjoy several playgrounds scattered through the park. You also can play golf or roam the nature and hiking trails.

Description: This all black cycling club got its start in the mid-1980’s out of the now defunct Yellow Jersey Bicycle Shop in South Dekalb, which had opened its doors not only to serve the cycling community, but also to bring awareness of the sport to the black community. The club’s founding members, Larry Anderson and Dikobe McFarlane, shared the same vision and, as a result, started the Metro Atlanta Cycling Club (MACC).
