Description: First, Ukazoo, pronounced YOU-ka-zoo, doesn’t mean anything. It was opened by brothers Jack and Seth Revelle. Locally bred and raised in Baldwin, the boys graduated from Loch Raven High School. You can find new and used books (and they know the inventory) with lots of out-of-print titles, comfy brown leather armchairs, and little group clusters. When you see a painting, photograph, or print on the wall that you really want to own, they’re all done by local artists and are available to purchase. You can also find handmade clocks, journals, pottery, and Lichtenberg figures. Check their schedule for sessions on creative writing, children’s story hour, and game night (checkers, chess, backgammon, trivia, or bring your own favorite to the South Reading Room event). The store is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
