Description: This bakery is headquartered in an old Deering Avenue firehouse, where the staff produces a huge selection of dense, chewy breads with names like Amish White and Black Forest Pumpernickel.There are more than two dozen different loaves to choose from, including honey whole wheat, sunflower, German rye, English muffin, cheddar garlic, cinnamon walnut raisin, and Deep South corn bread. Fans of Big Sky granola call themselves “granola heads,” and you’ll understand why after trying the addictive bags of honey-sweetened rolled oats with whole almonds and sunflower, pumpkin, and sesame seeds. If you’re in the mood for something sweeter, try one of their huge cinnamon rolls or a giant cookie. Big Sky serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On the menu are sandwiches, grilled paninis, soups, and salads. Lunch at its satellite location in Monument Square is served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
