Description: The Grand Ole Creamery has been creating some of the area’s most imaginative and delicious ice-cream flavors in its parlor since 1984. And the flavors, including Irish coffee eggnog and chocolate malt banana, aren’t just interesting experiments in flavor, they’re also very, very good. The store serves up to 32 flavors from a master list of more than 100, and customers can satisfy their chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla cravings or try the black walnut, cinnamon, or sweet cream. At the bottom of each ice-cream cone is a malted milk ball carefully placed so that the ice cream doesn’t leak out onto your shirt. The store also makes thick, rich malts and shakes, banana splits, and sundaes. During the dog days of summer, folks line up out the door to indulge in this stuff. Grand Ole Creamery is open daily.
