Description: Luther Seminary educates ministers for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). It is the largest of eight ELCA seminaries in the United States. The seminary expanded and merged with other seminaries over nearly 150 years to its present size after the consolidation of six area institutions serving a similar function. The campus is located on a pastoral bluff in St. Paul, where they provide graduate degree programs in several religious areas of study and confer Master of Divinity for those wishing to become pastors. Luther also offers D.Min. (Doctorate of Ministry) and Ph.D. degrees, the latter in select fields of study related to the Lutheran Church.
