Description: W. A. Frost is located in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood of St. Paul in the elegant 19th-century Dacotah Building. The menu is brief but well executed and includes ahi tuna, duck, walleye, filet mignon, and more. Of particular note is the house-smoked gravlox, salmon cured in sugar, salt, and dill (the dill distinguishes gravlox from regular lox). The restaurant also serves some unusual and delightful cheeses paired with wines and sherries. Also of note is the extensive loose-tea list, courtesy of St. Paul’s Tea Source. If you’re in the Twin Cities in summer, try to get a table on the leafy patio, which time and again is voted the best outdoor dining experience in the Twin Cities. It’s refreshing and comfortable during the day, and cozy and romantic after the sun sets. W. A. Frost is open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner, and Sunday for brunch and dinner. Reservations are highly recommended.
