Description: A St. Louis tradition since 1929, Ted Drewes offers the absolute best frozen custard. Called “concretes,” these shakes are so thick that you can turn them upside down and not lose a drop. Create your own shake from a menu of cookies and other goodies, or choose from the existing favorites. The sundaes and concretes come in six sizes, but the “mini” or regular size is usually big enough for one person. Closed during January and February. Open daily.

Description: Located in the Southampton neighborhood nicknamed SoHa, Onesto’s gourmet pizza is worth the trip alone. The eatery also features a variety of pasta dishes—including an excellent fettuccine alfredo and sweet potato gnocchi—along with sandwiches, calzones, Stromboli, and some of the best Tiramisu in town. One of Onesto’s specialties is the Arancini, a large breaded and deep fried rice ball stuffed Parmesan cheese, tomato sauce, ground beef, and peas.
