Description: There are 21 casitas in this adobe compound, built in the 1930s and ’40s as an artists’ colony. These include studios and one- and two-bedroom suites and two hot-tub suites. Details vary according to the accommodations, but all have private bathrooms, private entrances, cable TV, and Wi-Fi Internet access. Some have private Jacuzzis, full kitchens or kitchenettes, kiva (or beehive) fireplaces, and private courtyards. A couple of rooms feature wall murals by artist Amado Pena. Decor is southwestern style, and courtyards and gardens ramble between the casitas. There are no phones in the casitas, but there’s a phone in the lobby and business center, as well as a computer with printer. Complimentary hot breakfast in the sunroom is cooked to order and might include eggs, bacon, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, burritos, along with fresh fruit, breads, bagels, yogurt, and cereal.
