Description: In the old mining town of Cerrillos, Makarios caters primarily to experienced riders of all ages who are looking for adventure on the back of a horse. Be warned: This is not easy riding. You’ll be traveling on rough, mountain terrain to easy valleys, on one of five horses belonging to the ranch. Your journey may take you into the lovely Galisteo Basin area or deep into the Cerrillos Hills or the Ortíz Mountains. This is wild country with Indian ruins and old mines, some of which you might want to stop and explore. Rides are by appointment only.
