Description: The full-service Embassy Suites hotel opened in 2005 but feels brand-new, with nine floors of impeccable suites built around an attractive leafy atrium. Every suite faces either the mountains or toward the lights of Downtown and the west mesa beyond. Executive suites on the top floor have private balconies. The room rate includes a full cooked-to-order breakfast and substantial breakfast buffet, plus an evening cocktail reception with appetizers. Each comfortable two-room suite is smartly decorated in soft neutral tones and has a 27-inch TV in both the bedroom and living room, plus a wet bar with fridge and microwave, two telephones with data ports, and a sizeable work desk. The sitting room area has a parlor chair and a sofa that converts to a queen-size sleeper. Suites have either a king bed or two double beds, dressed with 200-thread-count sheets. There are also two hospitality suites and a 2,300-square-foot Presidential Suite overlooking the Sandias. The hub of activity is the spacious atrium, which features a waterfall and glass-fronted elevator. Complimentary breakfast and evening reception are served here, and lunch and dinner are available in the atrium’s Cyprus Grille. There is also a pleasant lounge-style bar, and Caffeina’s Internet café, with Starbucks coffee, snacks, and gifts for sale. Other amenities include a business center, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and a 24-hour video games room. The hotel’s Spa Botanica offers a full range of massages, facials, beauty treatments, and day spa packages. Wireless (and wired) Internet access requires a daily fee of $9.95. Smoking suites are available. Embassy Suites is close to I-25, six blocks from the Downtown Civic Plaza, and also handy for UNM and midtown.
