Description: Although it’s part of the Hyatt complex, the Lone Eagle Grille is tucked along the lake across Lakeshore Boulevard from the main hotel/casino. A quintessential example of Old Tahoe architecture, the building showcases enormous wooden beams, soaring ceilings, and artistic rockwork. It’s quiet and sophisticated, with an absolutely drop-dead-gorgeous view of the lake. You don’t need to eat here (although the food is wonderful) to enjoy the ambience and the view from the lounge. It’s definitely a favorite of the well-heeled crowd. The Lone Eagle offers easy listening entertainment Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. You can also wander across the road to the hotel and take in live music on weekends in Cutthroat’s Saloon.

Description: Billing itself as the place “where everyone plays,” Rookies makes good on its claim 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You’re never far from your favorite sports action: Twelve satellite TVs are scattered around this casual bar/eatery. If you’d rather participate than watch, you can always dance to DJ-hosted music Thursday through Sunday. Rookies has a full menu featuring typical pub fare and mouthwatering steaks. In the summer, the patio is an especially popular spot; you can watch all the people go by on Tahoe Boulevard while you enjoy a tasty burger in the sun.
