This is a family-friendly restaurant that also offers takeout. If you plan to eat in, however, oversize booths and stand-alone tables are available. There’s also a full bar. “Casual but neat” attire is required, and reservations are recommended.

Description: Homemade soups, salads, pasta dishes, steaks, burgers, chicken, and seafood are among the diverse options available at this midpriced, cozy, and casual restaurant. Dinner is served nightly, and lunch and brunch are offered on weekends. Compared to other restaurants in the area, the prices here are more affordable, yet the food quality and service is impressive. Because the menu is so diverse, Post Stop Cafe caters to a broad audience, including families.

Description: Located within the Dune Deck Beach Resort, this is a casual, family-friendly restaurant that is open daily from noon to 11 p.m. On Fri, Sat, and Sun evenings, live music is presented on the outdoor deck (seasonally). Reservations are required, but there’s a very casual dress code. The restaurant offers a waterfront view, delicious food, and a large assortment of drinks. There’s a “light menu,” which includes a handful of appetizers and smaller entrees, plus a selection of sandwiches, salads, and chowders. Entrees include fish-and-chips, sirloin steak, grilled chicken, Baja fish tacos, Alaskan halibut, and seared ahi tuna. The prices aren’t cheap, but they’re reasonable. For example, you’ll pay about $14 for a basic burger, and $18 for the lobster roll. The petite sirloin is priced at $24. Wines are available by the glass, plus full bar service is offered.

4. Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center

Description: This venue offers several different performances, as well as special events and concerts, throughout the summer. In 2010, for example, Michael Bolton, Los Lonely Boys, George Clinton, Dan Zanes, and Little Feat were among the musical acts slated to perform live. At this theater, independent films are also shown throughout the year, and performing arts “camp” sessions are offered for kids. Each camp ends with a performance.
