Description: If you don’t have a Curves near you, it’s pretty likely you will have one soon. Curves for Women is the largest chain of franchised fitness centers in the world, with more than 10,000 locations and four million members as of December 2008. As with all Curves, this facility is equipped with hydraulic-resistance machines that are arrayed in a circuit where you move from machine to machine on a time interval. The pieces of equipment in the circuit target specific body parts, and you exercise aerobically at stations between the machines to keep your heart rate up. The circuit moves you from station to station and is directed by music and taped instruction. Curves is located within the North Gettysburg Shopping Mall, and it’s open Monday through Saturday. If you belong to a different Curves franchise, your membership there allows you to use these facilities while you’re visiting Gettysburg.
