Seminary Bookstore - Shopping - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

City: Gettysburg, PA
Category: Shopping
Telephone: (717) 338-3005
Address: 61 Seminary Ridge (Milton Valentine Hall

Description: This is the bookstore for students of the seminary, but it also has much to offer the public. One aisle is devoted to textbooks while the rest of the space has religious books, devotional resources, greeting cards, gifts, jewelry, and more. Maybe you’d like a toe ring with an inspirational message on it, or a beautiful silver cross. Most of the books deal with the Lutheran faith, but other Christian denominations are also represented. The bookstore is open Monday through Friday; it’s closed for lunchtime from noon to 1:00 p.m. Parking is available behind Valentine Hall, and the bookstore is on the right as you enter the building from the rear. Since there’s very little if any signage on the seminary grounds, finding what you’re looking for can be tricky. Valentine Hall is on Seminary Ridge (also called Confederate Avenue) beside the Adams County Historical Society, which is located in Schmucker Hall and which does have a sign out front. (For information on the historical society, which offers tours, see the Attractions chapter.)
