91. Station 22

City: Charleston, SC
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (843) 883-3355
Address: 2205 Middle St.

Description: Casual, but not quite flip-flops and a T-shirt, Station 22 offers variety on its menu and island history on its walls, which showcase dozens of photographs of turn-of-the-20th century Sullivan’s Island. Find appetizers like the fried green tomatoes with pimento cream cheese and a puree of fire-roasted peppers or the cornbread fried oysters with Thai sriracha and tartar sauce. For an entree, try the black bean ravioli with scallops and shrimp in a garlic cream sauce and fresh tomato salsa or the char-grilled salmon filet over sauteed spinach with mushrooms. Save room for their signature coconut cake. Open every day from 5:30 p.m. for dinner and Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parking is available in front and next to the restaurant or their private lot directly across the street.

92. Water’s Edge

City: Charleston, SC
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (843) 884-4074
Address: 1407 Shrimp Boat Lane

Description: Water’s Edge is an upscale seafood and beef restaurant on Shem Creek. Specialties include local seafood, Maine lobster, and paella. You’ll also find one of the most comprehensive wine and champagne lists in Mount Pleasant. Patrons park themselves, if possible, at a table next to the window for a view of the shrimp boats. Or come by your own boat and dock at the cabana bar. Water’s Edge is open for lunch and dinner every day and serves a nice Sunday brunch as well.

93. The Wreck of Richard and Charlene

City: Charleston, SC
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (843) 884-0052
Address: 106 Haddrell St.

Description: Tucked between Magwood and Wando seafood companies in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant, two flags (there’s no official sign or designation) will help find the Wreck. The restaurant is very unpretentious, and you can arrive by your own boat if you don’t mind crawling around on the docks to disembark. You may dine either on the deck or the screened-in porch dining area (the porch is sealed up and heated in the winter months). Try the shrimp and grits or the lightly fried scallops. Portions come in either Richard’s size (large) or Charlene’s size (not as large, but plenty), so order according to your appetite. Beer and wine are available except on Sun. The Wreck is open every day for dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m.
