Description: Seniors Helping Seniors is run by SOS, which stands for Save Our Seniors. SOS Health Care was founded in 1990 by Dr. Bill Davis as a grass roots effort to help provide assistance, in particular health-care assistance, to seniors who often fall through the cracks of the health-care system. Many of its volunteers are seniors themselves. The program trains lay counselors over the age of 50 to provide support for those in need. Open Mon through Thurs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the SOS hotline is staffed to provide assistance in finding medications and treatments, and sometimes just lend an ear to seniors who need someone to talk to.
