Description: The men’s and women’s basketball season begins in early Nov and continues until mid-Mar. Home games are in Goodell Gymnasium (called the New Gym) on the Tech campus. Women’s games generally begin at 5:30 p.m. and men’s at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the gym; prices are $6 for adults, $4 for youths 10 to 18, and free for those 9 and younger. The Lady Hardrockers have appeared in the Division II national championships eight times since 1994, and they reached the final four twice. The men’s team has also done well, competing multiple times in the national championships since 1997.

Description: Men’s and women’s cross-country events generally take place on Saturday during the fall. Each year a meet featuring regional teams is held in conjunction with the school’s homecoming events. The meet is open to the public at no charge, but since the location varies you’ll need to call for information.

Description: The Hardrockers’ season begins around the first part of Sept and goes until early Nov. Home games are usually at 1 p.m. on Sat at O’Harra Field on the Tech campus. Tickets are available at the stadium, and prices are $7 for adults, $4 for ages 10 to 18, and free for anyone 9 or younger.

Description: In late Nov 2008, the Rapid City Rush played its first home game in an impressive new home—the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center’s expanded $20 million ice arena, complete with 5,002 seats and 13 sky boxes, called suites. The Rush play in the Northwest Division of the Central Hockey League, formed in 1992. The league hosts an all-star game in Jan, and a four-round playoff series in late Mar for the Ray Miron President’s Cup Trophy. General admission tickets range from $18 to $28. Season tickets are $100 to $956 per seat.

Description: Men and women hold indoor track competition during Jan and Feb. Outdoor events for the Hardrockers are generally on Sat from late Mar through late Apr at O’Harra Field on the Tech campus, with one regional meet each year open to the public at no charge, usually at 10 a.m. on the first Saturday of April.

The Lady Hardrockers’ home games are in Goodell Gymnasium (the New Gym) on the school campus, but you’ll need to call for the schedule. Tickets are sold at the door and cost $6 for adults and $3 for ages 10 to 18. Admission is free for those ages 9 and younger. When the parking lot at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City fills up, locals drive across Mount Rushmore Road and park at Central High School.
