Description: Spectators enjoy tailgating parties before the annual steeplechase race, held the second Saturday of October. The 1,200-acre estate, especially lovely in the spring and fall, also boasts an elegant, historic governor’s mansion, the Museum of Hounds and Hunting and the Winmill Carriage Collection, featuring well-preserved antique vehicles. Tours take place on the hour, noon to 4 p.m., Friday through Monday from early April through early December. Holiday tours are featured later in December. Admission fee applies.
