Description: In business since 1982, this agency has seven agents who know and love the ins and outs of Richmond’s neighborhoods north and south of the river, including North Side, Jackson Ward, Church Hill, the Fan, Woodland Heights, and Westover Hills. They enjoy nothing more than welcoming out-of-towners and showing off the architecturally and culturally vibrant neighborhoods in the city. Of course, they handle real estate all over the area as well, but Chris Small has noticed more 50-somethings, tired of driving in the suburbs and a bit bored out there, moving back to the city for the fun. They also can hook you up with great rental property—apartments and houses. Two agents speak Spanish, and one, Anne Thomas Soffee, is an acclaimed memoirist as well (Snake Hips: Bellydancing and How I Found True Love), so I’m betting she’ll tell better stories while you’re riding around Richmond with her than the typical Realtor schtick.
