Description: If you are interested in taking a train to get to Seattle, Amtrak provides service all along the west coast, from stations in Oregon and California to the south, and from British Columbia to the north. Amtrak trains stop at King Street Station, which is located just south of downtown near Safeco Field. One of Amtrak’s most beautiful routes is the Amtrak Cascades train, which runs three times a day between Eugene, Oregon, and Vancouver, British Columbia, with a stop in Seattle about two-thirds from the southern end of the journey. The Cascades train features panoramic windows designed to showcase the excellent views of the spectacular scenery along this Pacific Northwest passage. The cars on the Cascades route are European-style and extremely comfortable, and are also eco-friendly with low emissions and aerodynamic engineering. The Amtrak Cascades is also highly recommended for traveling from Seattle to Canada or Portland, or for taking a day trip from the city. Note that a valid U.S. passport and photo identification are required to enter Canada.
