Description: This charming, classic cocktail bar at the top of the hill that rises from Pike Place Market has one of Seattle’s most famed bartenders. Murray Stenson, known in these parts as “Mur the Blur,” is often called one of the best bartenders in the country, and he alone makes Zig Zag worth coming to. His cocktail list is award-winning, featuring a number of hard-to-find spirits and drinks with interesting histories. Try Satan’s Soulpatch, a bourbon concoction, or the Drink Without a Name, a glowing green libation made with vodka. A full-service restaurant churns out high-quality fare, mostly sourced from the market down the street. The specialty of the house is the flatbread pizza, but there is also a nice seafood selection and interesting Martini Steak rubbed with juniper and served with vermouth-pickled onions.
