Address: 700 East Main St.

Description: “Twenty smiles” from Madison’s east side, this small-town amusement park makes a nice day trip. The park’s 29 attractions include gas-powered go-karts, minigolf, and an assortment of rides for various ages and heights. Some of the rides, such as the Whiskey River Railway are good for the entire family to enjoy. The schedule varies and it is always best to call or consult the Web site. Generally, Little Amerricka is open on weekends starting in late May, most (but not all) days in June, July, and Aug, and then back to weekends in Sept. The Pumpkin Train is the only ride operating on weekends in Oct. There is no general admission. Unlimited ride passes are sold to children based upon their height as some rides are not available to children under 36 or 42 inches. Individual tickets are available for minigolf and all rides including the go-karts. But some rides and attractions require multiple tickets and so the unlimited day pass is often a better deal. Concessions sell the usual carnival fare—hot dogs, burgers, popcorn, cotton candy, and frozen treats.
