    Observation: Kitchen ceiling vents are soiled. Grease buildup on floors of kitchen behind equipment.

    Observation: Foil wrapped Baked potatoes are removed from heat and placed into a container in the cooler.

    Observation: Menu items served raw or under cooked are not identified on the menu. Will follow up at next routine inspection.

  • Established procedures for responding to vomiting and diarrheal events
    Observation: No clean up procedure in place. Emailing Noro-clean document for reference.
  • Discarding ready to eat, PHF/TCS food prepared on-site or opened commercial container held at 41°F for 7 days
    Observation: REPEAT violation. Several items held over from previous day were not datemarked. Will follow up at next routine inspection. Items not datemarked at future inspections will be discarded.
  • Cleanability of floors, walls, and ceilings
    Observation: Walls are missing base molding throughout kitchen.
  • Bare hand contact with ready to eat foods
    Observation: Kitchen employees handling biscuts with bare hands. Employees state that gloves are not normally worn but hands are washed. Corrected at time of inspection by educating employees and manager on food code regulations, employees brought gloves to the kitchen and wore them. Will follow up at next routine inspection.

    Observed meatloaf dated 3/35/13 and sliced ham 3/22/13. Discarded at time of inspection.

    Kitchen main make line holding all foods at 46*-50*.

    Observed potatoes wrapped in foil from yesterday and large portions of covered meats in the cooler. Gave cooling documents for reference and guidance.

    Observed empolyee handle raw meat then handle a package of buns without washing hands. COrrected at time fo inspection.

These guys have excellent service, and great food. I always have some left to take home. I love their baked potatoes (which are huge), and they have a lot of great menu items. The food tastes like it is home cooked. My kids love it also. They like coloring pictures which the staff hang on the wall for everyone to appreciate. My husband loves their breakfast plates which are available all day. Staff members are awesome, they are always very chipper and attentive. They really earn their tips. They check on your table often to make sure that everything is great, if you need refills, and if you need anything else. If you want a welcoming experience and a great meal, I highly suggest that you "Swing" on by The Home Plate where their bases are always loaded and watch them run for their money. You guys are awesome keep that great batting average.
