I ordered two dinners:
1. small oxtail dinner with rice& peas, plantains and salad.
2. small brown stew chicken with rice & peas, plantains and salad.
3. extra order of plantains
Total: $21.84.
The large pieces of oxtails were very tough, the peas in both orders were mushy as if they were mashed up and neither order had plantains. In addition, the plantains I ordered on the side were hard, dry and seem to be very old.You judge for yourself...picture attached.
The service wasn't that much better. The Order takers are unfriendly. They never greet the customers unless the customer greets them first and they never smile at or with the customers. In fact, the only time I've ever seen them smile is when they are yakking with each other.
This was not my first visit. In the beginning, the food was delicious, but over the years, not so. Maybe they have a new chef.
I will be making a different choice the next time I'm in the mood for some good Jamaican food. Island Pot is not the spot...for me!
