- The mission of SoCo Counseling is to provide accessible, high-quality mental health counseling services to members of the community. Our purpose is to help you achieve your goals in a confidential, supportive and judgement free environment. Each counselor at SoCo will offer a free consultation upon request, either by phone or in person. This allows you to familiarize yourself with the counselor of your choice before making a commitment to invest in your well-being. SoCo does not contract with insurance companies due to the limitations such contracts place on how and when client services are delivered, as well as limitations on client confidentiality. We prefer to tailor services to our client's individual needs. Because we don't accept direct insurance payments, which customarily amount to around 65% of standard fees, we are able to offer lower fees overall, and work with people at a variety of income levels. All SoCo Counselors are licensed by the state to offer professional counseling, or psychotherapy services. We specialize in working with adults with a variety of concerns, including addiction, adjustment issues, couples counseling, gender identity exploration or transition, grief and loss, life-transitions, mindfulness, mood regulation, parenting, trauma, and more. We are conveniently located just South of Ben White Blvd. between S. Lamar and Manchaca in the Western Trails Medical Offices.
