- Comfort Keepers provides in-home care to seniors allowing them to age with dignity and grace in the comfort of their own residence. We encourage seniors to remain independent as we bring the convenience of assisted living to them! Comfort Keepers is a national leader for in-home care with over 550 offices nationwide. Our compassionate and professional caregivers provide an array of services that are tailored to each of our client's needs. Services include: transportation to appts., meal prep, errands, shopping, laundry, light housekeeping, med reminders, companionship, personal care (bathing, feeding, incontinence care), respite and much more. Because we know the challenges of maintaining safety and caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's Disease or dementia, our caregivers receive additional training in order to meet these challenging needs. Our services can be as brief as a three hour visit or as long as a "live-in" basis. We often provide services to "couples" as they feel the need for some "helping hands" around the home. Our service area includes Duval and Saint Johns Counties in Northeast Florida. Our Comfort Keepers are very special caregivers. They are carefully selected and must pass a comprehensive series of background screens. They are employees and not independent contractors, which is an important distinction when selecting a home care provider. They are covered by workman's compensation, general and professional (when applicable) liability insurances. Our Comfort Keepers are bonded. Supervison and training is provided by a registered nurse. We are locally owned and operated by Kathryn R. Murphy RN, MSN, a retired Navy Commander, Certified Geriatric Care Manager and Certified Senior Advisor. Her professional staff meet with families to help them understand their options for in-home care and to provide assistance in planning for the appropriate services. We are an active member in the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and are listed as a company in "good standing" with the Better Business Bureau of North Florida. We actively fundraise and support the Alzheimer's Association and the American Cancer Society as a tribute and honor to many of our current and past clients. We have worked hard to earn an excellent reputation in our Jacksonville community. We will work even harder to earn your trust in caring for your loved one.
