Sarah McIntyre, soprano, has appeared with the Amadeus Opern Ensemble in Salzburg, Austria, Lexington Opera, Nashville Opera, Birmingham Opera, Chamber Opera Chicago, and Chicago Folks operetta. Upcoming performances include a concert with the Lira Ensemble at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, PA and Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore with Sugar Creek Symphony & Song. She will also be heard singing Helena in scenes from Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Operatic roles include the title role of Zaide, Frasquita in Carmen, Jou Jou in Mitislav der Modern, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Miss Pinkerton in Old Maid & the Thief, and Felice in Test Tube where she was the first to sing the fully staged role of Milton Granger's Opera. As a frequent concert and oratorio soloist, Sarah has sung for the Greensboro Symphony, Chicago Lyric Opera Guild Concert Series, and Northbrook Parisian Salon Series. This fall, she will be heard on the Metropolis Performing Arts Classical Series. Sarah holds a Master of Music degree from Belmont University and Bachelor of Music from Samford University. In addition to her university education, she has been chosen to participate in numerous opera intensive programs including the International Vocal Arts Institute in San Juan Puerto Rico, and Voice Experience. Sarah maintains private teaching studios in Chicago and in Arlington Heights at the School of Performing Arts, where she is the head of the Voice department, and director of the Metropolis Youth Choir. Sarah is on the board of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, serving as Secretary for the Chicago Chapter.
