- Started by Alfred Trosset in 1908, the Utica Catholic Book Store has been a fixture on Genesee Street in downtown Utica for 100 years. Alfred's work is now continued by his son, Richard who continues to run the business with the same care, quality and service that his father provided. The store was expanded in 2008 with an additional 1,200 square-feet of space added on to the existing 3,500 square-foot store. This expansion allowed for even more merchandise to be displayed, creating more room for books, religious articles and greeting cards.
