The mission of Crossroads Film Society is to provide Mississippi with a forum for independent, international, and arthouse film. The mission of Crossroads Film Festival is to provide a forum for film-makers (particularly Southern film-makers) to showcase their projects, network with other film-makers, and teach the community about their art. Throughout the year, Crossroads coordinates events in the metro-Jackson area, including screenings of films, either classics or nationally released but not picked up by local theaters; events in conjunction with the projects of other local cultural institutions; and workshops and panels led by prominent independent film-makers. This spring (March 29 - April 1, 2007), Crossroads is pleased to announce the seventh annual Crossroads Film Festival, held at various Jackson-area venues, including Hal and Mals (the Redroom),George Street Grocery, the Capri Theater, and Parkway Theaters. Our music line-up for this event includes Unwed Sailor, Beach House Music, Snowden, Deerhoof, Questions in Dialect, and Bear Colony, and our film and workshop line-up will be announced shortly.
