- Home Support Services, LLC is a state-registered, non-medical Personal Care Assistance (PCA) agency. Our company was established in 2002 for the sole purpose of providing the basic services that would enable seniors to remain independent and in their own homes for as long as possible. We are authorized by the State of Maine, Veterans' Administration and most insurance companies to deliver services to their members. Our Homemaker, PCA and HelpLine® Medical Alert Systems combine to offer a comprehensive approach to ensuring our clients' continued independence. Employees of Home Support Services undergo extensive background checks. Personal Care Assistants must have successfully completed a state-recognized PCA course prior to being assigned to clients. Additionally, all Team members are bonded and covered by workers' compensation and liability insurance. Our Homemaker service is intended to provide seniors a helping hand with the household chores they face each day. Maybe they are no longer able to accomplish these tasks, or, simply no longer wish to do them. In either case, our Homemakers may be just the solution you have been looking for. Our clients choose the tasks they would like done on each visit. Here are just some of the things we could do: wash dishes, vacuum and sweep floors, clean the kitchen, bathroom etc., taking out the garbage, laundry, grocery shopping, meal planning & preparation, monitor food freshness, make beds, medication reminders, companionship, and much more. While our Homemakers are expected to perform light housekeeping duties, our Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) perform both light housekeeping and hands-on assistance to our clients. To do so, all PCAs must have successfully passed a state-authorized PCA course. Hands-on tasks might include assistance with: bathing, grooming, dressing, incontinence, toileting, ambulation, transfers, bed mobility, respite, and more. Working with each new client (and family members) we develop a Plan of Care unique to each client's particular needs. A precise schedule of days and times of visits is developed, along with the tasks to be completed on each of those visits. One specific PCA is identified (when possible) to be dedicated to the client. This approach clearly sets the expectations necessary for us to be successful in our mission. Our HelpLine® Medical Alert service is intended for seniors who may find it difficult to get to a telephone in the event of an emergency. A simple press of a button will summon help. Monitoring service is provided by CRC Cooperatives. CRC is a nationwide, 24/7 central monitoring station. Founded in 1992, CRC has steadily increased in the size and scope of its operation with offices in Austin, Minnesota and Dunlap, Tennessee. CRC offers superior two-way voice monitoring services for medical alert monitoring programs. CRC's Central Station, a member of the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA), has achieved Five Diamond Certification (a status reached by fewer than 5% of Central Stations). CRC's Central Station Operators (CSOs) are certified through the Security Industry Association (SIA) training and development program and CRC has received UL certification for architectural and physical features, emergency power, computer hardware and software, as well as operator training.
