Instructors
Fred and Christina Maddocks are the owners and instructors at Maddocks’ Martial Arts in Charleston Maine. Although much Ju-Jitsu is incorporated in the curriculum primarily Moo Duk Kwan style Tae Kwon Do is taught. This was passed down to them from Grandmaster Mike Clark formally of “Clarks Tae Kwon Do of Bangor Maine”. As instructors we have a combined 45 years of martial arts experience and 32 combined teaching experience. As well as Tae Kwon Do we taught many courses in Women’s Self Defense throughout Maine and in the Adult Education Department.
Martial Arts Experience
Fred began studying Ju-Jitsu in 1984. He is formally a Third degree black belt in Ju-Jitsu. He began his training in Tae Kwon Do and received his black belt in 1992. He is a former New England point fighting champion and is presently a 5th Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do with over 20 years teaching experience. He also has a 2nd degree black belt in Hapkido. After learning many techniques from her husband Christina began her formal training in Ju-Jitsu in 1986. She later began her training in Tae Kwon Do and also received her black belt in 1992. We then opened a school in Dover-Foxcroft, formally “Clark’s Tae Kwon Do Dover branch”. Tina received her Master Instructor’s Rank in 1998 and is a 5th Dan Black belt in Tae Kwon Do with over 20 years of teaching experience. She also is a second degree black belt in Ju-Jitsu.
Personal & Family History
The Maddocks’ have been married for over 30 years and have three adult children; all of which trained in the Martial Arts. Their oldest son, Fred Jr. a third Dan instructor of Tae Kwon Do and has studied Ju-Jitsu and Aikido. Their youngest son is an Army recruiter and a first Dan black belt, and studied Gracie’s Ju-Jitsu and many self-defense styles. Their daughter is a homemaker and mom.
About Our School
Maddocks’ Martial Arts located on Route 15 in Charleston Maine, is a martial arts school that teaches Moo Duk Kwan Style Tae Kwon Do and the self-defense techniques of Ju-Jitsu. We teach both TAE KWON DO and JU-JITSU to provide a person with a well-rounded variety of self-defense tools.
Our training leans more to the side of self defense than sport karate.

Monday and Wednesday 6:30 To 8:00
Tae Kwon Do
5:30 to 6:30 Kids class ages 7-12
Tuesday and Thursday 6:30-8:00

Programs
Our programs are specifically designed for adults or former martial arts students of any style that are tired of so-so training. We offer private, semi-private and group classes throughout the week to provide for a variety of scheduling needs. We also have a full weight lifting gym.
