  • Great Hair Services business hours 10 am 6pm are the best As I was dwelling in these useful thoughts; I passed by a shop with giant paintings of Robert Johnson. I love Robert Johnson, he is the best blues musician ever lived if you ask me. Back in the day, it was believed that he traded his soul to devil to be able to play the blues. His songs has independent, cross tempos with a singing line in a complete different key. It all sounds very casual and honest. It is mind boggling to be able to play guitar and sing at the same time like that. I have worked on one of his songs for 3 months now, and I play the blues very decently, almost got the guitar part down, still can not sing on top of it. The sign said it is a barber shop also. Two weeks Barbershop and Collectibles. Let's have a hair cut shall we? The store is decorated with more Robert Johnson memorabilia, tunes of him playing from vinyl in the back ground also, guitars on the walls. Can't wait to meet the owner... A guy shows up, he looks like he is from the south. He ignored my presence completely. Weird. It is funny when you are running a business and i am the only person in the store. It was kinda cool actually. I took a seat. Three or four minutes later, he made eye contact. -Hair cut? -Yes. -Sit down. ... -What style? -(lowered my tone) Tidy up. -Hmm... No way to talk to this guy, no need to either. He is not your daily ''oh my god, I am so blessed that I offer my services to you...'' type of guy. He is just cool, not rude, just being himself. I like people like that, even god said one day '' I am that I am'', well in a little different context I reckon. Listening to the blues and getting cleaned up, pop art everywhere. Maybe I should just grab one of the guitars and lay down the ''Stones in my pass way'', he might like me better. He must be really cool though, that I am seeking for his acceptance and approval. Not that I have daddy issues, just, it is not usually the case. Surprised. Also I am a white boy, it is intimidating to play his roots to the Royal highness. He didn't use scissors, just an electric shaver all the way. That's a first. A brother walks in and sits down. He recalls the days going to the church when he was a kid, and our cool barber was there also. He gets no response. Not even a smile or turn of the head. Just keep it quiet will ya? You are not clearly one of us, the bluesmen. We have a black cat bone and a mojo too... No need for a happy spirit chirpin here. We are down and out, and we like it that way, thank you. To be honest he did a great job with the hair. Thanked, paid and left with a broken, but a great spirit. I still have 30 mins to the bus, that, my friends, is 2 beers, and the info guy at the bus station can suck it up. Lit a cigarette, walked away singing; ''if I had possession over judgment day. Lord, the little woman I'm lovin' wouldn't Have no right to pray''
