    Observation: Soda crates were observed being used as shelving.
    Correction: Nonfood-contact surfaces shall be free of unnecessary ledges, projections, and crevices, and designed and constructed to allow easy cleaning and to facilitate maintenance. Hard-to-clean areas could result in the attraction and harborage of insects and rodents and allow the growth of foodborne pathogenic microorganisms. Well-designed equipment enhances the ability to keep nonfood-contact surfaces clean.

    Observation: The interior of the "Masterbilt" freezer and the water fountains are not clean.
    Correction: Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment shall be kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris. The objective of cleaning focuses on the need to remove soil from nonfood contact surfaces so that pathogenic microorganisms will not be allowed to accumulate and insects and rodents will not be attracted.

    Observation: The area around the dumpster is in need of cleaning.
    Correction: A storage area and enclosure for refuse, recyclables, or returnables shall be maintained free of unnecessary items, as specified under section 6-501.114, and clean. Proper storage and disposal of garbage and refuse are necessary to minimize the development of odors, prevent such waste from becoming an attractant and harborage or breeding place for insects and rodents, and prevent the soiling of food preparation and food service areas. Improperly handled garbage creates nuisance conditions, makes housekeeping difficult, and may be a possible source of contamination of food, equipment, and utensils.

    Observation: The baseboard is missing near the right of the mopsink.

When cleaning is accomplished by spraying or flushing, coving and sealing of the floor/wall junctures is required to provide a surface that is conducive to water flushing.

    Observation: The mop was not hung to dry after use.
    Correction: After use, mops shall be placed in a position that allows them to air-dry without soiling walls, equipment, or supplies. Mops can contaminate food and food preparation areas if not properly cleaned and stored after use. Mops should be cleaned and dried in a sanitary manner away from food flow areas.

Manager on duty made notification that sewage came up through men's restroom floor drain yesterday. Plumbers were on site yesterday making repairs. Men's and women's restrooms should be maintained as "Out of Order" to public until plumbing problem has been corrected.

    Observation: The nonfood-contact surface of the drinking fountain is not kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, and/or other debris.
    Correction: Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment shall be kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris. The objective of cleaning focuses on the need to remove soil from nonfood contact surfaces so that pathogenic microorganisms will not be allowed to accumulate and insects and rodents will not be attracted.
  • Plumbing System/Maintained in Good Repair
    Observation: Sewage has been backing up into men's restroom through floor drain. Strong smell of sewage was present in men's restroom. "Out of Order" signage has been posted. Plumbing company has been working on the problem, and is expected to continue until issue has been resloved.
    Correction: A plumbing system shall be maintained in good repair. Improper repair or maintenance may result in the creation of obnoxious odors or nuisances, and may also adversely affect the operation of warewashing equipment or other equipment which depends on sufficient volume and pressure to perform its intended functions.

    Correction: A storage area and enclosure for refuse, recyclables, or returnables shall be maintained free of unnecessary items, as specified under section 6-501.114, and clean. Proper storage and disposal of garbage and refuse are necessary to minimize the development of odors, prevent such waste from becoming an attractant and harborage or breeding place for insects and rodents, and prevent the soiling of food preparation and food service areas. Improperly handled garbage creates nuisance conditions, makes housekeeping difficult, and may be a possible source of contamination of food, equipment, and utensils.

Follow-up visit after establishment was closed due to no CFM on duty.
The establishment is allowed to re-open for business but will remain on probation for another year. If at anytime during the next one year, there's no CFM on duty during a visit from Health Department, the license may be suspended.

Suspension is effective upon service of the notice. When a license is suspended, all food handling operations shall immediately cease unless another certified food manager or, where appropriate, certified limited food manager is present and in control. If the reason for the suspension is eliminated prior to the suspension being sustained by the county manager, the suspension shall be terminated.
