College of the Desert Street Fair

The College of the Desert Street Fair is located at 43-500 Monterey Ave., Palm Desert, CA on the northwest corner of the College of the Desert campus. It is about a 2 ½ hour drive northeast from San Diego and just over 2 hours from Los Angeles.

The open-air street fair hosts over 300 vendors during October-May and offer arts and crafts, a variety of unique gifts, entertainment, a farmers market and food booths. During the summer season, the fair has roughly 100 vendors.

The entertainment, admission and parking are all free of charge to patrons. There is even a golf cart available for free shuttles to and from the parking area. Funds raised by the fair are applied to student scholarships and financial aid as well as other college sponsored programs.

The fair is open every Saturday and Sunday. Operating hours vary depending on the month: October through May from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 7 a.m. to noon during June to September.

Other attractions in Palm Desert include the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, Joshua Tree National Park, San Andreas Fault, Knott's Soak City Water Park, adventure tours, several museums, and the McCallum Theater featuring world-class artists and musicians.
