Lazy Creek Vineyards

Located four miles west of Philo in the Anderson Valley, Lazy Creek Vineyards takes its name from a creek running through the 95-acre ranch.

This vineyard, home to award-winning wines, such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling, lies just off Hwy 128, over a narrow and winding dirt road. Through redwood groves, bushes and oak trees, visitors will find this enchanting ranch, one of the smallest and second oldest vineyards in the area. Lazy Creek Vineyard's location, with its sloping terrain and temperate climate, make it ideal for producing rich wines.

The farm was settled by an Italian family in the early 20th century, and later, a Swiss family took over the farm. By 1973, the winery facility was built. Finally, the current owners, the Chandlers, bought the farm and winery in 1999.

Passersby are welcome to visit the vineyard as long as the gate is open. Their tasting room is located in a free-standing rustic room behind the cottage.

Lazy Creek Vineyards is located 170 miles northwest of Sacramento and 40 miles south of Fort Bragg. Nearby, tourists can also find Philo Apple Farm, Montgomery Woods State Reserve, Anderson Valley Historical Museum, Navarro River Redwoods State Park, Dimmick Memorial Grove State Park, Faulkner County Park, and Van Damm State Park.:
