Marin County Farmers' Market - San Rafael

The Marin County Farmers' Market is held every Thursday and is part of a group of markets in the Bay Area. The market hosts up to 100 farmers, artisans, and handicraftsmen each week. It is popular for area residents to shop for ingredients or to grab a prepared lunch during a busy workday. In addition to fruits and vegetables, fresh and straight from the farm, the market offers coffee and tea, jams, breads, pastries, chocolates, cheeses, meats, fish, poultry, and pre-packaged foods. Vendors offer pizza, tamales, barbecue, waffles, crepes, sandwiches, falafels, and chicken dishes. Visitors can also shop for cut flowers to liven up their space once they are home. The market is located in the Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium parking lot from 8 am until 1 pm, all year long. Vendors change depending on the season. Food booths include Aidells Sausage, Local Eden, Donna's Tamales, Cap'n Mike's Holy Smoke LLC, Barlovento Chocolates, Marin Gourmet, Brittany Crepes and Galettes, Maddie's Mud, East and West Gourmet Foods, Easy Living, Mi Fiesta Catering Co., Garden Variety Cheese, Avi-ously Delicious Catering, Della Fattoria, and more. The market is a popular gathering place for people in the area and it is common to see a mix of business professionals, stay at home moms and kids, and young college students all gathering to shop and enjoy the dishes prepared fresh at the market.
