Robert Hunter Winery

Robert Hunter Winery is located at Arnold Drive in Sonoma, Sonoma County, California and is approximately 50 miles from San Francisco International Airport. There are four types of wine produced at the estate vineyard. These are Brut de Noirs, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Bob Hunter started to grow the vineyard back in 1973 and it is now 42 acres in size.

The winery is the smallest champagne house in California. In addition to the vineyard there are gardens with a fine selection of plants, some of which are rare. The landscape of the gardens overlooking the vineyard was designed by Thomas Church with an emphasis on leaf color and texture. Tours of the vineyard and the gardens are available by appointment only.

Visitors can sit on the terrace of the gardens and enjoy views across Sonoma Valley, whilst tasting some of the wines on offer here. There are several eateries within a couple of miles of the winery including Bluegrass Bar and Grill, which is also on Arnold Drive. Two hundred meters away in the back yard of the Madrone Market is a small place serving hot Mexican food called Madrone Market and Deli.
