Fun Facts about San Clemente, California

I just wanted to write a short blog about some fun facts about San Clemente. As many of you already probably know San Clemente is considered one of the best climates in the whole world. With an average temperature of 70 degrees and sunshine over 340 days a year this makes San Clemente nothing short of paradise.San Clemente pier
In 1969 President Richard Nixon bought part of the HH Cotton Estate, one of the original homes built by the Hanson partners. Following Nixon’s resignation he actually retired to San Clemente. He sold the home in 1980.
In regards to jobs the largest employer in San Clemente is Capistrano Unified School District at 553 employees. Other notables are Ralphs at 266 employees, Albertsons at 249 employees and the fisherman’s restaurant by the pier at 195 employees.

There are five companies that have their corporate headquarters in San Clemente Cameron House, ICU Medical, Pick Up Stix, Rainbow Sandals, and traffix devices.
I’m sure most people are aware that San Clemente is a huge surfing town. San Clemente is the surfing media capital of the world as well as surfing destination. Some of the magazines that it is home to our surfing magazine, the surfer’s journal, and longboard magazine. San Clemente high school has one six out of seven most recent NSSA national surfing Titles.
San Clemente has two newspapers. The Sun post news and the San Clemente times.
