Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Much To Be Appreciated Where I Work Now
Posted 05-15-2017 at 11:38 AM by case44
For a combined seventeen years at one company and with the first sixteen in my rear-view mirror, I can safely say that I like it where I am now.
My job in Customs Brokerage has been mostly good to me. Everybody gets along, and we work well together. There's teamwork. Above all else, there's patience with one another. There's maturity and respect among the work crew. I've had to learn a lot even after the training session was finished seven months ago. All of which leads to me to think that this is the best job I've ever had. Ever. In the history of ever.
As for my former occupation as a courier dispatcher, well, for as much as I tried to give to it, my old department is falling apart. It never really was that great, as I was never fully surrounded by good talent and there was no clear-cut compliance for dispatchers in the company. Most of those employees were very juveline in the way in which they behaved, and the atmosphere just wasn't professional. Last year, with all the stress involved in the job, the run-ins with management, and my becoming convinced that the department was not going to get better, it simply came time for me to make a change.
I was a very good dispatcher, but I have to put my past occupation in the rear-view mirror. Onward with life today, and I just enjoy being with Customs Brokerage and the environment that it provides me. Many great things are ahead.
