  • Fort Worth Ordinance
    Weekly inspection of Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter not recorded. Weekly inspection of Pool yard enclosure and gates are not recorded. Operational records of emergency telephone test results are not maintained. Nationally Accredited/Trained pool/spa operator certificate not prominently posted.
    Corrective action: Inspection of working Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter for pool/spa equipment shall be tested and recorded at least one time per week and be made available to the Director or his/her representative upon request. Condition of Pool yard enclosure and gates shall be inspected and recorded weekly and be made available to the Director or his/her representative upon request. Emergency Telephone operation shall be tested and recorded monthly and be made available to the Director or his/her representative upon request. Provide proof of having a Nationally Accredited or Trained pool/spa operator by posting prominently their current and valid certificate.
  • Disinfectant Equipment and Chemical Feeders
    TSSP&S 265.197 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Disinfectant Equipment and Chemical Feeders, pages 48 - 49; TDSPSPC 337.92 (Eff Jun 13, 1965). Disinfectant equipment and chemical feeders shall be designed, constructed, installed, maintained and operated to comply with all applicable provisions of City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Pool and spa skimmers are used as chemical feeders. Disinfection agents and other chemicals are not properly stored.
    Corrective action: Pool and spa skimmers shall not be used as chemical feeders. Disinfection agents or other chemicals and feed equipment shall be stored away from pool and spa users, off the floor in a dry, above ground level room and protected against flooding or wetting from floor, walls, and ceiling. Chlorine compounds shall not be stored in the same area as petroleum products.
  • Waste Water Disposal
    TSSP&S 265.196 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Waste Water Disposal, page 48; TDSPSPC 337.77 (Eff Jun 13, 1965) and FW Ordinance #12156-Sec 16.459-462 (Sep 12, 1995). Waste water shall be released in compliance with TCEQ requirements, City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    There is a direct mechanical connection between the wastewater disposal system and a drain or recirculation system.
    Corrective action: Backwash or drain water shall be discharged through an air gap at least two times the diameter of the discharge pipe located above the overflow level. A splash screen barrier can be used to prevent water splashing.
  • Suction Outlets and Return Inlets
    TSSP&S 265.190 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Suction Outlets and Return Inlets, pages 37 - 41; TDSPSPC 337.81 (Eff Jun 13, 1965). All suction outlets and return inlets shall be designed, constructed, installed, maintained and operated to comply with all applicable provisions of the City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    The safety vacuum release systems have not been maintained to prevent entrapment.
    Corrective action: Spas and pools that are 4 feet deep or less at the main drain and that have covers or grates that measure less than 24 inches diagonally, must install a SVRS.
  • Electrical Requirements
    TSSP&S 265.192 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Electrical Requirements, pages 43 - 45; TDSPSPC 337.93 (Eff Jun 13, 1965)and FW Ordinance #12156-Sec 16.459-462 (Sep 12, 1995). All electrical components shall be designed, constructed, installed, maintained and operated to comply with all applicable provisions of the City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Ground fault interrupters are not working.
    Corrective action: All ground fault interrupters shall be working. The pool/spa shall be closed until all electrical equipment is protected with working ground fault interrupter circuits.
  • Handholds Specific Safety Features
    TSSP&S 265.199 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Specific Safety Features, pages 52 - 60; TDSPSPC 337.80,TDSPSPC 337.93,TDSPSPC 337.96 (Eff Jun 13, 1965) and FW Ordinance #12156-Sec 16.459-462 (Sep 12, 1995). Safety features and equipment shall be designed, constructed, installed and maintained to comply with all applicable provisions of City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Overhead or underwater lighting is not safely or properly maintained.
    Corrective action: Overhead or underwater lighting shall be maintained safely and according to standards.
  • Pool Yard Enclosures
    TSSP&S 265.200 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Pool Yard Enclosures, pages 60 - 62 and FW Ordinance #12156-Sec 16.459-462 (Sep 12, 1995). Pool yard enclosures shall be designed, constructed, installed and maintained to comply with all applicable provisions of City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Adequate gates/doors are not provided. Three of four gates do not self-close and latch.
    Corrective action: All gates or doors for pools and spas (other than new Class A & B pools) shall be lockable and equipped with self-locking and self-latching devices. An inaccessible opener mounted on the enclosure shall be installed at least 3.5 feet above the deck/walkway surface, shall open outward away from the pool/spa and shall be latched when the pool or spa is not in use or when nearby or associated pools/spas are closed as a result of a hazard or other unsafe condition. All ingress and egress to access a pool or spa shall be through common pool enclosure gates or doors.
  • CLOSURE NOTICE
    You are hereby notified that you must take immediate action to close your pool to the public until appropriate corrective actions are taken to safeguard the public from hazards detailed above in this report.
    Serious health violations were identified during today's health inspection. You must close your pool immediately to the public until appropriate corrective actions are completed.
    Corrective action: Before the facility named in this report can reopen for swimming pool/spa operations to the public, the owner/operator must take immediate corrective action to correct identified hazards and request a re-inspection by a Code Compliance Consumer Health Specialist. A fee of $125.00 will be required before any re-inspection may be conducted. Payment shall be made at 818Missouri Avenue, Room 154, Fort Worth, TX 76104 or by phone at 817-392-7255. Each re-inspection will require the fee be paid prior to the Consumer Health Specialists return. The closed pool/spa must meet minimum standards before it can be re-opened.
