Gosh, reading this thread now, some of the criticisms of this contest are so childish. The forum doesn't have an obligation to pay you $500 in the first place, much less change the rules because you feel like you deserve the money more than another poster. It's just a contest. Relax, guys.
I've noticed a few people being downright outrageous in their posts just to get the back and forth comments and quotes. It got especially bad this last week of the contest. But I guess anything to win. I tried to post some angry stuff, but it just wasn't me.
I know what you mean. I know it's just a contest and I don't expect to win because I'm just not on the boards as much as the winners are to write so many posts. You'd have to spend a lot of time on here to stand a chance.
I was in the Non-romantic relationship board yesterday and this one user all of a sudden brought up at least 1 1/2 pages of threads from 2012 to write a quick response to. It interrupted the flow of the threads. There were quite a lot of active threads that users were communicating in and all of a sudden they all ended up on the 2nd and 3rd pages because of this user getting in her posts before the contest ended. It happens usually near end of the contest that members will do that. It can be a bit aggravating and seem somewhat unfair is all. I was just posting my concerns in this thread that is about the contest.
Last time I noticed a user going crazy at the end of the contest by posting quick responses in old threads on many pages at a time he/she won.
But I'll let it go like the songs says but if I see that the user that brought us so many threads actually wins this time, you can bet I'll do it myself next contest since it seems to be ok to do. lol I wouldn't mind winning 500.00.

A day or two to be notified, cheque came a few days after that.
Also its not decided on the amount of posts but more to do with the quality of your posts and how your posts generate debate and discussion.
