Just curious what they are--police, state trooper, some other agency? They are tan, unmarked, and I have only seen them pull over tractor trailors/18 wheelers--never a regular car. I don't live in Alabama, but travel there several times a year. I always see these vehicles on I59 anywhere from Tuscaloosa and southwest to the Miss line.

Yeah I'm not sure what those are either, but I'll tell you this: that is the most heavily policed road in Alabama that I know of, with the possible exception of I-20 between B'ham and Atlanta. I don't know why it's so locked down; maybe there's a lot of drug trade going on over on that road. The worst is right after you pass Tuscaloosa, there will sometimes be an exit ramp with 6 or 7 cops on it, just lined up, waiting to pull people over. Scary stuff.

I believe they are with the Troopers. The Dept of Transportation also does spot checks on semis. I-20 and I-459 are the busiest drug corridors in the SE.

Federal agents more than likely.

I don`t have any solid facts but I believe I-10 from Texas(Houston) to Florida(Jacksonville) and I-95 from the Miami to around the D.C metro area is the busiest drug corrriders in the SE. I know the Mexican Drug Cartel is known for using I-10 from Texas to Flarida

They're state troopers. Some of them have the state logo on one side. They also use black or gray Dodge Chargers. If a Dodge Charger gets behind you, slow down. Some other police forces use them as well. I was stopped by a black Charger in the tiny south Alabama town of Brantley for doing 40 in a 25. Turned out to be a Brantley policeman.

I-59-75-81 is a big drug running route as it connects mexico and the gulf coast to the atlantic seaboard while going through less populated areas than I-95 does.
