Well, I live fairly close to Hartford...its a typical Alabama small town, I looked for a house there actually before settling about 20 miles away. Weather is hot and humid like anywhere else around here. Attractions? Not sure what you mean... Dothan is about 15 minutes away or so.

Thanks for your response, as far as attraction goes; I was wondering about Spring/Summer festival & events that may be held.

AJ, sounds like an absolutely wonderful fun time for all the folks in the locale area. Will have to ask my dear Friend if the family has ever visited, I'm sure the answer will be yes.

Hartford is in Alabama so it automatically scores a 'zero' as a baseline value and must earn it's way from there. The plusses are that it has a cute classic town square. Too bad there aren't any shops in it. So that's plus 1; minus 1. It has an old, small Piggly Wiggly and a used car dealer. There are some mom n' pop restaurants in the downtown that probably aren't worth the mold exposure as well as a Hardee's and a Subway which is located at a large gas station serving people traveling on hwy 167 on their way to somewhere. People actually traveling to Hartford might be going there to see the lovely HUD neighborhood and many unpaved roads. Hartford is, however, conveniently located: Florida is to the South, the Atlantic beaches are to the East and California is to the West. Weather in the area is unique in that it is actually hotter than some places even further South with all the humidity to make you feel just like you're in New Orleans but without having anything to do. Ah, but Enterprise is a short 25 minutes North where you can go see the Boll Weevil statue and then punch yourself for having wasted the fuel. Enjoy your visit, bring a book.

I live just 2 miles outside of Hartford, not from this area, lived here 8 years now, it is a nice small town, you must go to Dothan or Enterprise for things to do. I would describe it as a bedroom community for those areas, there is lots of small churches, and folks mostly work else where, such as Fort Rucker the Army base in Daleville, and they farm, mostly cotton, peanuts. Crime is very low and for festivals there is a river festival in Geneva in April, not much happens here. Panama City, Florida is your best bet for things to do, it is about 65 miles away. The weather is hot and humid in summer, not a lot of rain, winters are cool, and nice sunny days for the most part. Hope this answers some of your questions.
