I am wondering if anyone knows of a supplier of stained glass that is either in Alaska and will ship or else has reasonable shipping charges to Alaska? I have a glass order coming in but was horrified at the shipping costs. They will definatly put a crimp in my creative projects!

I don't know much about stained glass, but I know who does! Do a web search for Jim Kaiser Girdwood and you'll come up with his address and phone number. That will also get some info about his work with the Arts Camp for kids every summer in Girdwood, where Jim teachs stained glass work to children as young as 5 years old. He'll no doubt know the best sources of anything and everything.

I would also guess that if you were to volunteer to help with the Arts Camp you could spend some time working with him. He's in his 60's, is an incredably talented, and cranky, old f**t.

Tell him that Floyd the photographer from Barrow recommended him.

There is (or was) a shop on Old Seward Highway. Head south and maybe a half mile before the O'Malley intersection on the right. Small place but lot's of glass.

Thank you guys for all your help (again!). BlueFlames just left a bit ago with her camera set to do some shooting around here. I think the Universe is smiling on her plans, the sun came out and the air is crisp and clear after rain and gloom for several days. Fat Freddie the little mutt dog is sitting on the deck snoozing in the sun bereft looking that she left him behind at home. I am supposed to be studying for my exams so I can work in Alaska, but as you probably understand I am not with the program on such a nice day.
